People have a very short attention period, specially the online visitors. So it is very important for a website owner to build a website which reflects the company’s ideals and represent the corporate image. No matter how cool a website is, it should convey the right message because impractical site will unwillingly give an edge to its competitors and that too, in just clicks away.
Design is a very vital and crucial for a website. Nowadays, in most sites, we found Flash, animations etc…these are not bad but not too good as well. Websites are changing its design, form, functions, and textures along with the technological changes. According to Theresa Cunnington, senior usability consultant with services firm iFocus said “Flash animations are an obvious, yet stellar, example of what users hate in a Web site; the skip intro button is the most used button on the Internet. Users hate flash because it’s a barrier to the site.”
Build a website which reflects the company’s ideals and represent the corporate image.
Not every online visitor is going to access your site. So to turn the visitor into potential customer, only address the targeted audience.
The advertisement should be as such that it does not use unnecessary cover content, and flashes because users mainly hate such stuffs. In other words, the advertising should be invasive.
Do not ever try to learn the visitors before they browse it.
Make the website content justified because users dislikes reading long pages. Be short, simple and to the point.
Another serious problem is tendency of the visitors not to see the information and links on the right side of the webpage (Site blindness). This happens because the right hand column has become known for advertising.
Users hate the flashes, banners on a website because this hampers their concentration and draw the eye away from important things and breaks the momentum
